Baby Bea was opened in Dec 2007 and named after our daughter Beatrix. While pregnant with Bea I had found it extremely difficult to locate products locally that were unusual, unique, organic and environmentally friendly. In the end I gave up and bought everything I needed on the internet. After having our daughter we went on holiday to Cumbria and were shopping in Penrith when we discovered a little baby shop that stocked everything I knew and loved Organic baby products, beautiful clothes and lovely gifts. It was after leaving the baby shop that I said to my husband, "wouldn't it be nice to have a shop like that in Kent?". He agreed and 6 months later Baby Bea was born!
I have an "only gorgeous products" buying policy and ensure where possible that they are fair trade, environmentally friendly, organic and natural, bright, funky and unusual. Bea also helps with the testing of all products. Lucie who was born on 3rd Feb 2009 is already starting to become a dab hand at helping out too!
When people first enter the shop they say to me "Wow!" I provide a relaxed, friendly shopping experience with plenty of space for your buggy, a sofa for a quick feed, changing facilities and a constant new supply of gorgeous clothes, accessories and toys. I always listen to my customers and am constantly on the lookout for new and exciting products to make buying for your baby or toddler a wonderful experience.
The Baby Bea shop can be found just off Mill Yard, which is located next to West Malling's main Post Office. The shop address is: Mill Yard, Swan Street, West Malling, Kent ME19 6LP.
We are open: Tuesday - Friday 9-5 and Saturday 10-5. Appointments can be made for outside of these hours.
